1988 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet
The first-ever Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet, introduced in 1986, brought together open-top driving and the legendary Turbo (930) performance for the very first time. Powered by a 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six engine, it delivered supercar performance with everyday usability. Distinctive wide rear fenders, a signature “whale tail” spoiler, and classic Fuchs alloy wheels made it an instant icon. With only 1,642 examples produced, this model remains one of the most sought-after air-cooled 911s ever built.
This particular car was sold new in New Jersey, where it remained until 2003 before being sold to California. In 2014, it was imported to Belgium and professionally converted to EU specifications, including correct lighting and bumpers. During the conversion, it was repainted in its original color—Black (Code 700). The refinished Fuchs wheels are fitted with new Pirelli tires, and the soft top operates flawlessly with only minimal signs of wear. The top cover and wind deflector are both in excellent condition.
Inside, the interior presents beautifully, with power-adjustable front seats recently reupholstered and all gauges and the Alpine radio functioning perfectly. The on-board computer was rebuilt in 2024, and the air conditioning blows ice cold. The odometer currently shows 155,000 km.
Mechanically, the car is in outstanding condition, backed by maintenance records dating back to 1991. Suspension components, brake discs, and calipers are all in excellent shape. A recent service included an oil and filter change, new spark plugs and cables, and a 2024 air-conditioning recharge.
This 911 Turbo Cabriolet represents a rare opportunity to own a true milestone in Porsche history—a perfect blend of performance, luxury, and open-air driving excitement.
