1973 Mercedes-Benz 450SL
This amazing 1973 Mercedes-Benz 450SL has just been imported from Sunny California!
1973 was the first year of the 450SL name tag & in the U.S. it was the final year of the euro-spec bumpers. From 1974 the bumpers in the U.S. on the SL where the bigger rubber ones. This makes this 1973 unique & a one year only.
On top of that this car left the factory in Maple Yellow (color code 606G: Ahorngelb), which was rarely taken & only available from 1972 up to 1979.
The car was delivered new in Beverly Hills but spend its entire life in Palm Desert where it is always sunny. The car has undergone a cosmetic restoration to tackle the faded paint of the sun: the car was repainted in its original color and a new soft top was installed. Inside, a new interior was placed with seats redone in original leather and the center console also wrapped in leather. The dash has been redone professionally and new carpets are installed as well. A new original Becker Europa II radio has been installed to finish the interior.
After the restoration the car was always maintained properly, stored in a garage & rarely driven. This can be seen on the odometer: only 75300 miles (121.000km) were driven with this 450SL.
Of course everything works, all the gauges up to the ice cold blowing AC.
