1972 Dodge Challenger

In 1972 the Dodge Challenger underwent several cosmetic changes such as a new grill, new tail lights and detuned engines to meet new emission standards.
This specific car was bought from a long time owner in New York who had the car for 18 years and restored it over time.
 
The car has been repainted in its original color Mist Green in 2019 and looks really good. The vinyl top was also replaced in 2019 and has no damages whatsoever. The original Sport Hood (J54) is still on the car without damages. A black rear spoiler really give the car a more aggressive look. Original Rallye wheels with newer BF Goodrich tires are installed. All chrome is in good condition of course.
 
The interior is largely original. The original white seats don’t have any damages, rips or stains. The original Rallye Dash is still in the car and all gauges work except the battery gauge. An aftermarket battery charging gauge is installed. Even the original clock still works! A new retro radio was installed with amenities such as Bluetooth. The Rallye steering wheel has no damages. The original AC is disconnected when the new engine was installed, but all the parts are included in the sale.
 
Mechanically the car is completely new. The old 340ci engine (still available with the car) is replaced by a 340ci engine stroked to 408ci, putting out 420hp! The engine includes Electronic ignition, a serious street cam, Edelbrock heads, a 750 CFM Holley, Magnaflow stainless exhaust system, solid lifters and roller rockers. Also included is the 340 JS Rallye package and a heavy duty radiator to make sure it stays cool. The new engine has 10K miles since it was installed. Factory disc brakes up front stop the car and a 727 Torqueflite with a slap stick shifter shifts the car smoothly and quietly. The rear end of the Challenger is an 8 ¾” rear with posi-traction running 3.91 gears. The car drives, stops and corners very well and the undercarriage is spotless.
 
Overall this car is in excellent condition, mechanically in great shape with a high performance engine, and ready to rumble once more!
