1955 Ford Thunderbird
Ford unveiled the Thunderbird at the Detroit Auto Show in 1954 as a response to the Chevrolet Corvette. The car was an instant success and was more popular than the Corvette.
This 1955 Ford Thunderbird in Torch Red has been completely restored in 2015 to 2016 for more than 38.000 USD by Hotrods by Mike at Huachuca in Arizona. All paperwork of the restoration is present. It’s been repainted in its original color Torch Red and all chrome is new. New Coker Classic whitewall radial tires are mounted and new wheel covers are placed. The paint is still in excellent condition as we can expect after a recent restoration. The original white hardtop is also available with a stand and is in perfect condition. A new white soft top is also installed.
The original red and white interior was redone with a reupholstered power bench seat, new red carpets, trim on the dash and door panels. Air conditioning has been added. A refurbished Thunderbird-branded cassette player is also installed. Everything on this car was redone to original specifications. The electric windows, electric seats, AC and adjustable steering wheel all work flawlessly
Mechanically everything is redone. The original 292 Y-code engine and Ford-O-Matic transmission are rebuild by the restoration division of Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Jasper, Indiana. Currently an aftermarket air cleaner is installed, the original air cleaner is also available. The rear axle is rebuild and new brakes and brake lines are installed.
Overall this car is one of the finest 1955 Thunderbirds for sale after an extensive restoration. The car is sold with Belgian registration, but we can provide Dutch or German registration if needed.
