1953 Jaguar XK120 OTS
This 1953 Jaguar XK120 Roadster has been restored in 2012 and is one of the finest Roadsters currently for sale.
Sold new in New York and delivered at 17 January 1953, the car stayed most of his life in New York. The previous owner bought the car in 2012 when the car was just restored.
Original finished in Cream, the car was repainted in Pacific Blue, an original Jaguar color for 1953 and is fitted with rear wheel spats. A removable top, black tonneau cover, and a pair of side curtains are also available. Body-colored steel wheels are fitted with Jaguar-branded hubcaps, chrome trim rings, and Firestone whitewall tires.
The original red cockpit is completely reupholstered in red leather with a matching dash, carpets, and door panels. A factory four-spoke steering wheel fronts a suite of Smiths instrumentation, including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer with a nested clock, and fuel level, amperage, and water temperature gauges.
The original 3.4-liter twin-cam inline-six is completely rebuilt and equipped with dual SU carburetors like when it came from the factory.
Since acquiring the car in 2012, the previous owner has rebuilt the water pump with a new housing, and replaced the exhaust manifolds and gaskets, cam cover gaskets, thermostat, and tachometer drive seal. The brake system was serviced with a new master cylinder, flexible hoses, front wheel cylinders, and front brake shoes. The car was also fitted with new rear axle limit straps and buffers.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the original colors, proves the engine in original to the car and when the car was built. The car is sold with Belgian registration.
